Arnold Palmer Invitational, Whole Body Cryotherapy for Golfers

Golfers “Freezing” Up for the 2015 Arnold Palmer Invitational?

“Freezing Up” instead of “Warming Up” for the tournament?

While most people are ecstatic about coming to Orlando to enjoy the warm Florida sun, some professional golfers participating in the 2015 Arnold Palmer Invitational have colder temperatures on their mind.

The new therapy that’s sweeping the nation by storm – Whole Body Cryotherapy. This procedure has been around for centuries and was first developed in Japan for rheumatoid arthritis and is now available here at Orlando Sports Chiropractic.

For the professional golfer, or even the weekend golfer, looking to shave a few strokes, speeding muscle recovery, getting those aches and pains that occur, out of the way to be able to go another round the next day and hopefully, last the full term of a golf tournament would be a very valuable benefit. Probably more so than the most well engineered golf club in the pro golfers arsenal of clubs.

Those brave enough to enter the cryotherapy cabin or sauna will expose themselves to chilling temperatures of -130 to -180 degrees Celsius or -200 Fahrenheit. According to CNN, “that makes Antarctica – where NASA recorded the coldest spot on earth as -92 degrees Celsius at the end of December 2013 – officially warmer.”

Whole body cryotherapy is not like sticking your hand in an ice bucket or taking an ice bath after a game – this is extreme cold. But it’s a good cold. We coined the term “using cold to generate heat.” During the 3-minute cryotherapy process, nitrogen vapors fill the cabin and cool the top layer of skin, which sends signals to the brain, stimulating physical reactions which activates the blood to retract from the extremities, and protect the organs at the core of your body, activating the body’s natural healing process. So the overall feeling after you step out of a cryo-cabin is a warm and euphoric feeling of well-being.
